Welcoming Nature into Your home with Sheenagh Green & Nik Dillon - Colourtrend Paints

May 23, 2023 2 min read

At Colourtrend, we are always staying ahead of upcoming interior trends. This year we have seen a growth in the popularity of biophilic designs. This trend is all about bringing the outdoors in, creating spaces that promote health, well-being, and a connection to nature, and as a result, creating a tranquil and relaxing environment at home.

Sheenagh Green, one of our fantastic Colour Consultants was joined by Design Consultant and guest speaker, Nik Dillon to host the first webinar of our Colourtrend Live Summer Series, which brought our viewers up to date with all things biophilia and how easy it is to welcome nature into their homes.

Sheenagh and Nik shared some brilliant tips and tricks throughout. One of our key takeaways from the conversation was that biophilic design does not have to be overly complex and can be introduced around the home in subtle ways. Sheenagh and Nik explained, when recreating the biophilic trend using paint, it doesn’t have to be very strong greens. Some cut flowers and a nice, muted pink wall bring the feeling of warmth of the outdoors together. This is a simple way to incorporate the trend for people who feel their style is a bit too elegant or refined to have lots of houseplants.

Blush and green go beautifully together, despite people thinking the two might be garish together. As well as pink, red is also making a comeback. A lovely rust shade can feel nature-inspired and adds warmth to a bedroom and works beautifully alongside textiles such as linen and feathers. In case you missed the webinar, take a look at the full recording below.
